In order to be able to optimally present your offer to customers, the services offered should be presented in a structured and comprehensible manner. To achieve this, we use the menu item "Company > Services".
Categories
In order to group the services correctly and possibly also to link them in a meaningful way, we use categories. To add a category, click the "New Category" button. You can choose between different category types. This type can also be changed later.
Each category (depending on the category type) has different tabs that can be edited. In the General tab you set the basic settings, such as the name of the category. For more information about the different options, hover your mouse over the "?" next to the appropriate option. In this tab you can also copy or delete the category.
Important: In the case of a multilingual booking page, all public texts must also be entered in the corresponding language. Otherwise the services are not displayed.
In the "Advanced Settings" tab, you have the option of deactivating the category, defining the sorting order or defining display options for the category. There is also the service group ID here, which could be important when using the API or integrating it into the website.
The "Show/hide dynamically" tab is there to only show the service group if another service was selected beforehand, for example. The selection process can be structured in a modular way, so that the customer is offered other options depending on the service previously selected, or the booking page is simply built up gradually in order to guide the customer successfully through the booking process.
Category Type: Service Group
If you select the "Service group" category type, the corresponding services that you offer the customer on the booking page can be created in the "Services" tab. To create a service, click on the "New service" button. You can delete or copy the service with the 3 dots on the left side.
As soon as you create a service, you have different tabs here that you can use. At first it is usually sufficient to fill out the information in the "General" tab, because this is where you will find the key data such as the name, duration and price of the service. You can also move the service to another category here.
In the "Service-specific settings" tab, you can define the global settings (from the menu items Company or Booking page, which apply to all services by default) differently for this service. An appointment could require a longer lead time or only be payable on site. Global settings, which can also be set for specific services, can be recognized by the icon.
The "Advanced Settings" tab offers options that further customize the performance. You can set the order here or determine whether this service should be bookable at all. In addition, settings for multiple bookings, dynamic display can be made here or a repeat rule can be stored.
The "Tags / data transfer" tab can be used to specify whether a tag should be assigned in eTermin or passed on to a third-party provider when the service is booked. It is also possible to redirect to a URL or JavaScript code after the booking has been completed. Further information on third-party systems can be found here.
Category type: Text field (free text input)
If you set the category type "Text field (free text input)", the customer can enter text directly on the booking page. This can be a note or a description of something.
The category name is the title of the text field and the additional information is displayed as a tool tip and in the text field. On the booking page it looks like this:
The content of this text field is transferred to the notes field of the appointment and comes before the content of the comments field (notes), if this is also displayed as a contact data field. The content is also included in the confirmation email sent to the appointment provider.
Category Type: Other Location
The category type "Other location" is necessary for the travel time calculation. Here, the customer can use the Google API to select a location where the appointment should ultimately take place. This is useful, for example, for field staff or when driving to construction sites. On the booking page, the field looks like a text field.
The location selection can be limited to certain countries. In order for the API to Google to function smoothly, we recommend entering a Google API key in the Scheduling Page > Settings > Advanced Settings menu. There you will also find the options for calculating the travel time.
Category type: Select number of days
The category type "Select number of days" is mainly used for bookings that do not take place at a specific time but on specific days. This is relevant, for example, for hotel bookings.
To use this category, the calendars must be set to 24/7 in the "Company > Working hours" menu item, otherwise this function will not work.
Category type: Select number of minutes
If the category type "Select number of minutes" is selected, the customer has the option of providing an appointment with an additional time slot. The selected minutes are added to the total time of the previously selected services. In addition, a price per hour can be stored there, as well as the timing in which steps the time can be booked (e.g. in 15-minute intervals).
Category type: Number search (zip code, customer number, etc.)
The category type "Number search (zip code, customer number, etc.)" can be configured in such a way that certain service groups are only displayed after a specific number has been entered or in such a way that an associated calendar is selected for a specific number. Thus, for example, a customer number can be validated or an employee can be selected depending on the postcode area. You can also set an error message text.
Important: All categories behind the number search are always hidden.
To make a number available click on "New number search". Here you can choose between different comparison operators. The following selection is made:
Equal | -> An exact value is required here, which must not deviate. |
From - To | -> A value between two numbers is requested here. e.g. from 10 to 20. |
Last 2 characters | -> Only the last 2 digits are checked here. The value can only be 2 digits long. |
Last 3 characters | -> Only the last 3 digits are checked here. The value can only be 3 digits long. |
In addition, after the value has been defined, the corresponding service groups or calendars that are to be addressed with the number search are clicked on.
If you have any questions or need help with the configuration, please do not hesitate to contact us.
