The European General Data Protection Regulation (GDPR) regulates the secure processing of personal data of EU citizens. Art. 6 and Art. 7 GDPR regulate the conditions for processing and consent to data collection. This also applies to the collection and processing of the contact details of your customers and patients on the online appointment booking page.
Together with a data protection officer and IT lawyer, we have created a sample text for the GDPR-compliant data protection declaration, which is visible by default on your online booking page.
By clicking on the Privacy Policy, a window opens with the legal provisions for the collection of personal data, the possibility of revocation, the rights of customers and patients, as well as a reference to the person responsible in the imprint.
You can customize all of the text as needed. To do this, go to your eTermin account under: Booking page > Settings > Default texts. There you will find the Data Privacy Statement element. Alternatively, you can link to your website in the menu item Company > Settings > General in the field Privacy protection, so that instead of the default text, your website is opened and the data protection declaration there is displayed.
In addition, you can specify whether the data protection declaration must be explicitly accepted via checkbox in the Booking page > Settings > General tab.
On the online booking page, this checkbox must now be explicitly clicked on before the customer or patient can complete the booking. You can also customize the text next to the checkbox. You find this option in your eTermin account under: Booking page > Settings > Default texts. The element is called Data privacy confirmation text.
You also have similar options for the general terms of service.
