From May 25, 2018, the European General Data Protection Regulation (GDPR) applies, which deals with the secure processing of personal data of EU citizens. The GDPR applies to all companies based in the EU, as well as to all companies that process the personal data of EU citizens. It expands the data protection rights of the persons and is therefore not only applicable to large companies, but also to small medium-sized companies.
