1. Introduction
Appointments that have been booked via eTermin can be synchronized with Google Calendar on iPhones/iPads or Android smartphones, PCs and Macs. The appointments created online and the appointments that you created manually are synchronized this way.
The synchronization of the appointments is bidirectional, so that you can comfortably edit and create appointments in your external calendar as you are used to. The appointments get automatically synchronized with your eTermin calendar and appointment confirmation e-mails and reminders are being sent for the appointments that you created or edited in your external calendar.
2. Configuration of the synchronization settings
Go to Company > Synchronization and select your calendar provider, in this case Google and click on connect Google Calendar:
A new window opens, where you need to select the Google Account you want to link and afterwards you need to select which calendar should be synchronized.
In the next step a window will open with the confirmation that the setup of the synchronization was successful. You can close this window and save the changes.
Notice: If you are using G-Suite you need to change the security settings of your account in the following way so that eTermin gets the right to write in your calendar. These changes can take up to 24 hours according to Google.
After successful activation of the synchronization, all appointments will be synchronized from your external calendar to the eTermin calendar. Depending on the number of existing appointments in your calendar, this can take up to 30 minutes. Afterwards you can have a look at the synchronized appointments in the eTermin calendar. Furthermore, you can now test the connection by booking a new appointment in the eTermin calendar or via the online scheduling page. The appointment should be visible in the external calendar immediately.
Notice: The synchronization from the eTermin calendar to the external calendar happens in real time. Synchronization from the external calendar to the eTermin calendar depends on the synchronization interval. It is set to 5 minutes by default. Appointments that are created or edited in the external calendar are therefore visible in the eTermin calendar within 5 minutes at the latest.
Notice: If you have already booked appointments in the eTermin calendar before you activated the synchronization, these will not be transferred to the external calendar automatically. Therefore, we recommend that you edit the appointment in the eTermin calendar (e.g. move it by drag & drop and then move it back to the original period). This will trigger the synchronization with the external calendar.
Should you need to deactivate the synchronization to your Google calendar and re-establish it, you need to edit the access rights in your Google account beforehand. To do this, you must be logged into your Google account. Click your account picture in the right corner and click "Manage Google Account". Here you go to the "Security" item.
Here you will find the item "Third-party apps with account access". Due to the previously existing synchronization, eTermin is displayed here. From here, click on “Manage third-party access”. In the administration click on "eTermin" which will show the access details as well as the "Remove access rights" button. Click on it and confirm that you want to remove access rights.
eTermin then disappears from the access rights and you can re-establish synchronization.
