Setting up the eTermin - BigBlueButton Interface

Introduction

BigBlueButton is a global teaching platform and virtual classroom built from the ground up for teachers. It facilitates teaching for teachers and students in digital form and is available in 65 languages.

Connect eTermin with BigBlueButton

Log into your eTermin account at https://www.etermin.net/interface. Scroll to the BigBlueButton tile and then click the Settings button.

In the following window you can activate the interface and insert "Server Url", "Shared Secret" and the "Moderator Password" for the connection to BigBlueButton.

Set up BigBlueButton

You have the option of setting up the BigBlueButton link for the entire account or for each service. If you would like to set up a connection for the entire account, please go to Company > Settings > Communication and select "Other location" for the "Location for online booked appointments" option.

You can also activate BigBlueButton for specific lines only. To do this, go to Company > Services and switch to the "Service-specific settings" tab and then select the "Location for online booked appointments" option with the selection "Other location".

In the "Other location" field, please paste a link to link to BigBlueButton with the information below. This link is made up of various parameters.

id = Meeting-ID

t = Type

a = Participant

m = Moderator (the meeting is then started adhoc either as a moderator or as a participant)

u = Username

w = WebID = Your online booking page URL

(You can find your online booking site URL under Booking Site > Settings > General)

You can use the following placeholders in the URL:

RANDOMID = random Meeting-ID

FIRSTNAME = Participants first name

LASTNAME = Participants last name

The link must start with https://www.etermin.net/bbb? and could then look like this:

https://www.etermin.net/bbb?id=RANDOMID&u=FIRSTNAME_LASTNAME&w=YourWebID&t=a
