You have the option of customizing your contact form.
You can edit each individual field, hide it, make it optional or make it mandatory. You can also dynamically set up the fields as mandatory fields, more on this at the end of the article.
Edit contact fields
You can edit every contact field under Scheduling Page > Contact fields.
By clicking on the corresponding field you can edit it:
A new window opens in which you can edit the name of the field, among other things:
You can also make specific settings for the individual fields, such as validity rules, an input mask, an info text, and much more.
You can find these settings in the Advanced Settings tab:
In the Service-specific Settings tab, you can specify that your fields should only appear when certain services are selected. In addition, you can also specify that when you choose certain services, you must fill in the fields.
Set up mandatory fields
You can choose whether a field on the booking page and/or in the internal diary is a mandatory field or an optional field:
On your online booking page, the fields will appear as requested.
The mandatory fields are marked with a red asterisk (*):
Field Types
When editing the contact fields, you can choose between different field types:
Text Field
For the text fields, you can choose between single-line or multi-line fields.
If an e-mail address is to be entered in the field, you can use the E-mail text field option here. This predefined field automatically checks whether an e-mail address has been entered in the appropriate format. In the additional fields you can also set that a confirmation should also be sent to the specified e-mail address. More information can be found here.
With the text field date field type, your customers can enter a date in the predefined format DD.MM.YYYY. Attention: If you want to use a validity rule for entering a date, the affected field of type text field must be single-line.
Checkbox
If you choose the field type Checkbox, you can enter a text under Description, which the customer then has to confirm by ticking the box.
Dropdown List
The customer can select an answer from a list defined by you using the selection list.
With the selection list, it is possible to have further data transmitted that can be used to create documents or invoices via eTermin. More information can be found here.
Set dynamic mandatory fields in the contact form
Sometimes it is necessary to ask related questions in the contact form, therefore it is possible to add dynamic mandatory fields in the contact form. To configure these mandatory fields, please go to Scheduling Page > Contact Fields in your account.
In this example we create a field in which we query whether the customer has already received an offer. For example, we use the additional1 field. To edit it you have to click on it:
This window opens:
Here we change the Name to the desired question and change the field type to a Dropdown list. Then we have to enter the options separated by a semicolon in the List entries field. In this example: Yes;No
Then we go to the Advanced Settings tab:
With the Dynamically mandatory fields option, we can specify that depending on the answer, a different field becomes mandatory. The syntax is as follows: entry;fieldname. In our example, we want the Additional2 field to be mandatory if the answer is Yes, so we enter Yes;Additional2 here and save.
If you want to make a different field mandatory depending on the selected answer, you must insert a │ between these entries. For example, it could look like this: Yes;Additional2│No;Additional3
Now we only have to rename the additional field2:
On the booking page it looks like this if the customer already has received a wirtten offer:
And if they haven't received one, the field is optional:
If you need help with the configuration, feel free to contact us.
